Her Story
Maleeka’s passion for social impact and policy has given her the opportunity to carry out meaningful and exciting work in her home country Sri Lanka, and in Singapore. She holds a Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) degree from Yale-NUS College, specializing in socio-political issues in Asia.
In Sri Lanka, she interned with the Asia Foundation and worked closely with low-income minority communities to foster better community and ethnic relations, while cultivating better economic opportunities through entrepreneurship support and education. She also contributed to drafting policy memos and Op-Eds on improving Sri Lanka’s economy at Verité Research and Advocata Institute.
In Singapore, her experiences at the Asia Philanthropy Circle and North-East Family Office allowed her to contribute to a variety of innovative projects that addressed diverse societal issues, which furthered her passion for the field.
In her downtime, you will find Maleeka exploring green spaces and going on nature walks with her loved ones.
